Produktgestaltung - Industrial Design
This is a Project I made during my exchange Semester at the HDK Göteborg. It was followed by an essay about inefficiency. It is a trap that should interrupt people in their fast daily lifestyle, connect with each other and have fun with this miraculous machine. During this interruption people create time.
A thread spans across a walkway. When somebody stumbles, a lock in form of a ball falls out of a gear and makes the crane fall down. In order to get the crane up again one has to follow three steps: 1st replace the locking ball back into the lock; 2nd pull the front handle and, 3rd, simultaniously level up the crane using the big handle un the back. The crane is solely made out of wood, steel pipes and some thread. It can be assabled and disassabled completely without using any tools.
